Bizarre. It looks like marrow. Do you think it was preserved in mud or clay or something that prevented it decomposing until it fossilized?

I doubt that. I am sure it is complete mineral replacement long after the marrow rotted away.

Unique and beautiful piece, bhiatt! The agate with a touch of red and gold plume and druzy in the bone marrow core is amazing.
