Long time no see...
I've decided to get out of the rock hobby - which is why I haven't been here lately. I've been spending more time with writing - bet you didn't know I was a closet writer, and now I'm considering a job change and a move.
But it didn't occur to me until I considered packing that I need to get rid of all my rocks and equipment. So if you're interested at all, head on over to the vendor section. I'll probably sell most of the rock through ebay - cause I still don't know how to price the stuff. But the tumblers and workbench I'll try to sell locally.
See you in the vendor section or pm me with any requests...

I've had an article published in a running magazine - UltraRunner. And actually have another article scheduled to be published early next year in a publication called The Evangel. Wrote some poetry too, but no bites yet.
Working my way up to a book, but not sure if I'm leaning more toward fiction or non-fiction.

before you go you REALLY need to look at the poetry contest going on and vote!!!!! (for me, of course). but your reviews would be interesting, now that you are the REAL DEAL!!!

You write poetry and you didn't submit any poems in my Poetry of Images Contest!!! I must insist, Sir, that you at least read the poems that were submitted and cast your votes. Your insights are valuable! Surely as valuable as all of your rocks and equipment!!! ;D One other thing...how can you give up this hobby? You might want to consider writing a Self-Help Guide for Addicted Rock Hounds on how to break the nasty habit. Only I'm not sure it would sell well--except perhaps to friends and family members of the addicted Rock Hounds! Lady B

Good luck Toad. I am a closet writer myself. Science Fiction. Nothing published but my friends like to read the short stories. I would be the happiest guy if I could get just one published. I envy you. Again good luck!!! Dave.

Hey, Toad, I'm glad and sad. Glad because I "see" you again and sad 'cause you tell us you leave us. Good luck in your new job and in your move, and if the bug bites you again (wich I deeply hope ) you know where you'll find us. How's your knee? Adrian

The knee is good. I'm able to run again - when I'm not too lazy. Thanks for asking. Now off to the poetry corner...

Hey, Toad, more power to you! Locally, we have an editor for 'The Running Times', another running mag. If you are interested, here is the link, I think, regarding submissions: runningtimes.com/rt/articles/?id=6878&c=423This is a national mag, but they have featured photos of several area runners. It's funny; the guy and his wife moved back to her home town to raise kids; the management of the magazine is handled online and on the phone, mostly, I think. We (as a small town) are actively pursuing more professionals like that. Good luck with your writing and running!
