never, never never, say to your wife -- " I've got so many slabs that I don't know what to do with them all !" ---- this may happen to your house !! ---only thing I heard was " I've always wanted a tiled entry!" if I get them all glued down , do you think a teraso grinder would polish them up? ;D ;D

That was about as smart as answering the guestion "do these jeans make my butt look fat?" ;D
I do have to admit though that the entry way would look way cool with polished slabs. Can't help with the grinder. Don't know it.

yay mrs. snowdog! what a great idea!!!!
actually, i don't think a terrazzo grinder would do much as terrazzo is a pretty soft aggregate in comparison to some other stone materials. but...if you've got access to one, it would certainly be worth a try. but i think i'd do a test area first before attempting to finish the entire area. you know who might know is Kim (rockyraccoon), she is a flooring expert!

Rather than grinding you might want to check out the epoxy sealers used on concrete floors these days. ...Bob

Whats with all the ladies posting on this thread It you do use a grinder you will need multiple pads with different grits and you will need water. That might not be good on the floor. If you polish one of the faces and then put a thick bed of thin set you may be able to adjust for differing thicknesses. Or you could not polish do the thick bed of thin set and then an epoxy. I have never used the epoxy stuff so this is an idea that would need some more expert follow up advice. Great idea.

I am going to be doing that with the tiled areas in front of our front door and in front of our woodstove. I am going to be using thunder egg slices though.
