I picked them up at last weekend's show in Stockton. I'm baffled as usual. Bob

Number 2 looks like chipboard ryolite, how soft is it? Chipboard is not real hard but cabs good.

The #2 piece is rather hard. A knife won't scratch it. Bob

#2 is bark jasper from Montana. #1 looks like some kind of fossiliferous limestone. Is it soft or hard? #3 looks like an atypical Mexican Flame agate from maybe where the vein got skinny. #4 is plainly a nodule with stalk aggregates similar to sagenite and a few of those come from almost everywhere agate nodules occur. So that's a tough one to pin down.....Mel

Thanks, Mel, #1 won't scratch with a knife, nor will #2. Bob

Never seen a stone like #1 before. bears some resemblance to other stuff I've seen but those were all limestone hardness. Pretty material anyway....Mel

#2 looks like a nicer example of some burro creek I collected with vwfence in January. I'll look for the pic
