Made a very nice equipment score. Everything arrived yesterday, and I'm still unpacking. How often do you see a 40 year old unrestored machine that's this clean ? Just need to steam clean the inside of the pan & hood. And then there's the Crown bead mill. Missing the motor & drive wheel, but otherwise complete. And a Rock Rascal Model T. Needs a motor & good cleaning, but the bearings are smooth & the blade has lots of life left. Even came with the vise & a spare blade. More pics coming as I get things unpacked & sorted out.

Looking good! Don is doing the happy dance! Bet that Ed, Intheswamp, would take that Rock Rascal off your hands if you're not keeping it.

jakesrocks That crown lap machine is awesome. I scored the same one off eBay with the original dayton motor. I love how spacious the crown lap machines are around the wheels. I wouldn't mind finding another 4 wheel Crown lap machine

My two main grinding & sanding units are a Crown unit just like it and a Lortone Max Pro 8, which is about the same.

I'll tell you what. With the motor & arbor mounted, that thing is heavy.
It wouldn't be hard to bend up a housing like that. Really only 2 pieces of metal. The pan & back are one piece, and the sides, top & front top lip is the other. The pan / back is welded solid to the sides & top. All 16 gage steel.

More of the haul. Loretone 8" pan & hood. Bead drilling vise. Several pics to show details. First pic shows vise mounted in tank on 2 brass pins. The vise assembled. Vise disassembled. 2 pics to show large & small countersunk center holes to take different sized beads.

LOL, Bob, that's the result of 4 years in a row of spring flooding. Had to have 50 trees removed.

WOO HOO ! Just pulled the bead mill apart. There is zero wear in the pan or on the wear plate. The machine has never been used. Both aluminum parts are still shiney fron the original machining. How's that for a machine that was produced in the early 70's ? There's a small amount of tarnish on the bowl. Nothing that a little 0000 steel wool won't polish out.

Unpacked a few more things today. There were 8 of these 8" end plates. each with the rubber cushion and polishing pad. And each marked on the back for a different grit of diamond paste.

I already have a 6" Rock Rascal saw. I'm gonna clean this one up, and may decide to sell it.
