Hello, my name is Cookie. My group name is 2dawg, my wife and I are from Montana ,this is our first time to Quartszite, Arizona. We both are you into rock hounding. In Montana we live off grid on top of a mountain. Using solar, wind and generator backup. We were taught faceting an doing cab's by a 94 year old man, that has been working with rocks all his life. Our friend got me interested in this forum. Her name on this forum is drocknut. She has been a great help down here. Thanks for letting me share this forum with you all. 2dawg

Welcome to the forum! I like the fact that you live off the grid. We're "partially" off the grid using solar electric panels and we may eventually get around to putting in another row. I envy the fact that you can put up a turbine! That's awesome. drocknut is awesome and has a lot of information to share. Looking forward to seeing your work. Paul

Welcome to the forum from Virginia Beach! How fortunate you are to have Diane as a friend and to have such an experienced old rock hound to teach you! I, too, am rather envious of your off grid living. We live in the city, though, so it's just a dream we have. Looking forward to seeing some pictures from you... hint hint.
