Really nice. The Shattuckite is my favorite. Never heard of it.
Did you use a lower lighting angel for that and the dryhead? Looks like there was less glare off the stones but that could also just be due to the type of rock.

Really nice. The Shattuckite is my favorite. Never heard of it. Did you use a lower lighting angel for that and the dryhead? Looks like there was less glare off the stones but that could also just be due to the type of rock. To the best of my memory I used the same low light angles on all of the cabs pictured. Lower light angles give less glare so show more of the color and pattern of the stone but do not show off the polish as well as a higher light angle with more glare does. I tend to like to cut low domes on my medium and larger sized cabs which causes even more glare with the higher light angles. So I try to find the middle ground where I still get some edge glare but not enough glare to wash out the color and pattern. Photography is not my forte' and I still struggle with trying to get the photo quality I would like to. The Shattuckite/Ajoite material is soft and was old 1970s stock that had been stabilized with what appeared to be one of the old less-efficient Epoxy resin methods from that era. So despite being stabilized, the lighter blue Ajoite areas still did not polish as well as the darker blue Shattuckite areas did. Larry C.

Great cabs and nice photography. I really like the K-jasper and the right-hand dryhead, but that shattuckite takes the cake. Looks like Earth from space.

I am a big fan of variscite. You have some great cabs all around, though.
