Picked up this CZ 75B in 9mm last weekend. Not exactly sub compact, or lightweight, but it will soon be my main CCW weapon. At 6'4" and 275# with hams for hands, subcompact pistols just don't have enough grip area for me to shoot accurately.

Cool, I keep hearing good things about those. Still a fan of JMB's invention, myself, if only because it's what I have. Let us know what you think after playing with it awhile.

Looks pretty sweet, looking at a SW shield for my self. Like to hear a review on your purchase.

Russ I have a Colt Gold Cup National Match .45acp that stays in my night stand for home defense. I'm pretty picky about it and don't want any holster wear on the housing, so don't carry it very often. The CZ 75 is almost a full copy of the Browning Hi Power and feels really good in the hand, but doesn't "bite" like the Hi Power is noted for doing. I'm looking at a trigger and hammer kit the reduces the SA reset by 50% and lightens the trigger pull considerably . So far I'm very impressed with it and would buy another in a heartbeat! I bought the wife a Sig Saur model 2022 in 9 mm last year and I like this CZ a lot better

Nice looking pistol.
I've got a number of guns, but only a few pistols. One of them, however is a 1911 from my wife's grandfather from combat in WW2, which is pretty awesome. I have the same gun, current manufacture, from Springfield, but it wouldn't carry concealed. I've worn it on my hip when I was alone in the back country but would like to find a decent carry weapon. I'd personally carry something heavier than a 9mm but that is a nice looking gun and I've heard generally good things about CZ. Congratulations!

Quite a piece of history there, and priceless as a keepsake. This CZ is almost as large as a 1911 and not the ideal CCW weapon for most folks. I'm a very big guy, so I can deal with it fairly easily with the correct holster. The last few years has seen a huge advance in 9mm ammunition, so with careful selection, it is more than adequate as a defensive round. I've been shooting some of the Hornady critical duty ammo and am quite impressed with it. It is pricey, so I don't burn much of it in practice. Just enough to see how the gun likes it and some penetration and expansion tests For a concealable firearm in 9mm or .40 cal, take a hard look at Sig Sauer. CZ also makes smaller framed guns that have an excellent reputation. Before buying a S&W, do a search for accidental discharges by police departments that have switched to them.

sweet CZ radio ...that will be a great carry - hard to beat a 9mm for day to day i too have a weakness for the 45, my fav these days is a kimber i purchased a few years back -- first gun i got out the box that fit me perfect, size trigger pull, all of it similar to John - herchenx I have a vintage WW2 1911 that my grandfather carried in combat -- that one they would have to pry from my cold dead hands cheers

bsky4463 I'd love to get a Kimber some day. The past 8 or so years I've spent nearly all my shooting dollars on ARs but I probably have enough for several lifetimes so I'd like to get a nice Kimber 1911. I like some of the 1911 models remade in 9 or 10mm. The frame creates a generally less concealable profile but they do have shorter carry models I'd like to look at. I love the 9mm for shooting though, and until the past couple years ammo shortage you could always get it cheap. My first pistol was a 9mm, although I sold it years ago when I needed to eat

My Stag AR15 stays fully loaded and ready to rock at all times and it hasn't taken it upon itself to fire a single shot at anyone! Imagine that! Gun control proponents don't seem to understand the concept that criminals could care less about gun laws. They could outlaw "assault rifles" tomorrow and the criminals will still have them, but law abiding citizens would not. Tell me, how is that going to help reduce crimes committed with them?!?!?!? Rant over, carry on.

I only own modern sporting rifles. My 12 year old son used one this fall for his first hunt (chambered in 7.65x39 of course) and it was great - didn't see any deer during the season on our unit but it was a great gun - it was a hunting rifle... preaching to the choir I know but so sick of all this rights-grabbing.

Nice looking weapon! I'm not a 9MM fan, pretty much old school wheeled guy... Seen a few around here, I think my Nephew has one, if I'm not mistaking-he said it was an easy carry... I'm kind of steering to the 38 Special...Newer style weapon, I was told, but has that old school favor, that I like ..... Gave my 9MM to my Son In Law, he likes it better than I did...

Thanks all. I finally had a chance to shoot it this afternoon and it handles the best of any 9 i've shot. Almost no muzzle flip and just feels solid and controlled in the hand. I did discover I can't see the sights worth a crap though! It has the dark green, glow in the dark dots, but my eyes have went down hill fast the last couple of years and the sights were so blurry I was just guessing at the alignment. I managed 20 rounds in a 6 inch group at 25 feet, but that is horrible for me! I tried with and without glasses to no avail. It sucks getting older! Scott: go to a range and try the Glock, then try a steel framed pistol before you buy anything. I have shot Glocks and other polymer framed pistols and just couldn't adjust to them.

Had a chance to run 50 rounds through the new CZ this afternoon. It functioned flawlessly and is very pleasant to shoot, but my tired old eyes just can't see the sights clear enough to get decent groups. I painted the front sight white, which helped, but the pistol suffers from a too narrow notch in the rear sight unless you have the eyes of an Eagle. I switched to my old dependable Colt Gold Cup national match and put 40 rounds in the 10 ring. Looks like I will be using the Colt to qualify next Monday. I mentioned to the instructor that I would be using my Gold Cup and I swear could hear him drooling over the phone The mere mention of "Colt Gold Cup" does that to a lot of people

I'm not a "small guy" either... I've carried a Taurus 9mm for maybe 10 yrs now and before that a S&W model 66 .357 mag with a 4 inch barrel target sights & grips for me meat hooks to hold on too!! LOL
I really miss that gun and the prices now have my shying away from a new revolver, or even a decent used one.
Right now I have a Hi Point full size 45 that I carry, the price was right, made right here in the U.S. in Nevada, I think. Shoots well even with my tired old eyes and the lifetime warranty doesn't hurt either.
I have always been a fan of the CZ, they are nice pistols.
I'm hoping that Florida will continue its pro-gun stance and adopt the open carry that the sheriffs departments are pushing for. will really drop the crime rate in my opinion. After all, who wants to try to rob a store when there are a 1/2 dozen armed people in it?
