What renewed that childhood curiosity an eye agate.
My husband and I use to go arrow head hunting I would pick up pretty rocks and he would roll his eyes at me. Well was walking the dog down by our creek and found a cute little stone posted it and found out it was an eye agate.
So now I have a tumbler on the way and extra supplies a bucket and a creek full of pretty rocks. I am hoping on my vacation in May to find more spots in Missouri to hunt them.I can add them into my beading/jewelry making.
Really wanting to get some Mozarkite.
I am so new I am not even sure what rocks I pulled out of the creek yesterday. I did do the scratch test and threw back any that scratched most though just got a silver streak.
I pulled out all the glass I found as well.I will make wind chimes with them after I turn them into beach glass.Plus it helps get glass out of my creek. Enough about me glade to find a place to talk about this.

A couple years ago I attended the show at Lincoln and cherry picked a 5 gallon bucketfull out of a 16 foot flatbed trailer full of the stuff! I got some killer material!

looks like about 75% good stuff in the mix, so you should get some very pretty tumbles out of it. It is hard and takes a wonderful polish other than an occasional pit. please post up the finished goodies so we can drool :-)

Hello hazeleyes, from Kansas City. I look forward to seeing your mozarkite tumble. If you don’t already have a “Soil Survey of Linn County” from the county extension office, that would be a source of interesting info about your creek. The intro to those government publications contains a section on “Physiology and Geology.”

Welcome,
This is a very friendly helpful forum and much good information is available. I've been on less than a year but feel like I have benefited greatly from the encouragement of these fine folks. Enjoy! Don
