Good going, Glenn!!! Sounds like progress is happening!!!!! Yeah it is slowly coming... I'm debating on quitting one of my 3 jobs that has became an annoyance rather than a profit.. I need to catch up on college work as well.

Annoyance can teach things... If nothing is being learned there and it's an annoyance and there is no profit financially... it's your call to make. But be sure of things before you make a move and if you do leave be sure and leave on good terms. Three jobs and college...nobody can say that you're lazy!!!

Yeah, i'd have to be working a lot more at another job anyway coming soon. If I leave I will just say that some things came up where I can't for-fill the work needs.

Depending on what type of business it would be good if you could give them a heads'up that you're leaving...a week or two could help them out.

They have a few other guys that can help and 2 more employees since I started. Also in all of my business college classes, they say that not giving a long notice is actually better. If I work monday that will be my last day... I'll still be as busy as I need to catch up on college homework.

And most long-time, established businesses would probably agree with me. On the other hand, large bulging corporations where you're basically a number in a computer probably could care less about getting a two week notice from you...but, I probably wouldn't use them on my resume. If it is a casual, "on call" type of position flipping burgers or something then a simple conversation with the employer would suffice and they could let you know if they need a notice or not. An "I'm considering doing something different, do you require a notice from me?" statement to them could keep from creating any mistaken, cold feelings. If they really won't miss you then they really don't need you in the first place. Best wishes.

My opinion; just up and bagging a job with no notice might well burn a bridge you may need to cross one day. I'm 69, never worked in a lot of places, but could go back to most if I wanted.

I gave an option and explained my situation and the manager said that they will work it out, the manager didn't seem to really care or get worried about getting he replacement since he has 2 other delivery guys. He as surprised that I am 2 months behind in a college class though and agreed that that should be more of a priority. If I wanted to go back I could go back.. Quite frankly I felt like quitting the day they told me to come in and once I was in 20 min after commuting they said they didn't need me once I arrived.

It sounds like things worked out fine for you. No, the job you left doesn't seem like one that's highly sought after so you're probably right that you'd have no problem going back to it. Now...hit those books!!!!!
