That is correct. When he was questioned he asked the expert if she was some sort of expert or something.
He is scamming and knows it.

Send the seller a message. Ask if he'll give a signed & dated letter of authenticity with the stone. Neither looks like any lakers I've seen. He's just trying to scam the crystal power folks.

Actually, the guy is in New York. He must be dealing with a wholesaler in Brazil that takes the pictures and ships for him. Unless the item(s) are already in NY. He started on eBay a few years after I did and was buying from a guy I know in Cape Coral who was importing from his contacts in Brazil. The guy in Cape Coral is who arranged my buy of 55 gal drums of sodalite and rose quartz from Brazil.
This lowrocksnyc guy has obviously made his own contacts in Brazil and gone big time. Prices have always seemed high to me, even when he was just getting started. But then, I kinda knew what he was paying for his material back then. He often has quite interesting specimens, but usually at ridiculous prices.
Gotta admit that it would be a thrill to browse his supplier's warehouse.
