This will be a dry tumble for two hours using 7-8 one pound sharp rocks for starts. Would that be 00000 grit ? Wife wants them old and used looking. Whatever. Starting with 3 for the test.

Are those wood? If so, I think 3 hours may be too long, I would check after 15 minutes. (Total SWAG by the way )

Went back 3 hours later and got this. Score and mission accomplished. Some good paint. Wife has me tumble all kind of lamp parts and fasteners. She is sorta into the patina biz. www.etsy.com/shop/TinkerLighting?ref=search_shop_redirectHandles as pendent light extensions

They turned out great. She bought a whole box of them. Had plenty of room in the tumbler to do maybe 20 at a time. Thanks Lot of stuff has holes in it like fittings and pipes. Small rocks get jammed in them. Difficult to remove. So big media is better.

Your wife has an interesting etsy shop James. Very creative. Thinking there's nothing that someone won't buy.
One man's junk and all that...

Your wife has an interesting etsy shop James. Very creative. Thinking there's nothing that someone won't buy. One man's junk and all that... Having a discussion with wife machine. Such a defensive child. 1) Your wife has an interesting etsy shop James. -She loved it. 2) Very creative.-She loved it. 3) Thinking there's nothing that someone won't buy. -All the sudden she goes into a rant about 3 sentences. As if one too many. Or the meaning of the 3rd sentence is suggesting the insinuation that "anyone would buy that crap". I think she thinks me and you are the cynicism/sarcasm team. Apparently I have sarcasticized her into an overly sensitive lioness. 4) Never mind, it had the junk word in it. I clearly understood the complimentary insinuation of junk. Anyway, insinuation can be interpreted glass half empty/full thingie. She made me go to a marriage counselor 20 years ago. LOL did that back fire on her. The lady counselor deemed her defensiveness to be a probable cause to our problems LOL. I told the counselor she was wrong, that I was subversive and had her fooled. Maybe the counselor knew. But she pointed the heavy finger at the Ms.' No more counseling sessions since.

Damn James, you just described my bride of 29 years! The switch gets turned on in our 50's. I blame myself for being grumpier. But the meno thing raises challenges too. Got em up last night Erich: Dry: Wet:

oops...
Glad I deleted the sentence that I had typed about it being a good thing you two didn't have kids or there would be a rift over which one of you would get to list them in your etsy store!
I did sincerely mean my post in a complimentary way.
Repurposing is the latest greatest thing and Denise seems to excel at it. I'd be proud to have such creativity AND ambition from my wife unit.
not gonna happen... all she does is watch the TV shows about such.
*sigh*

I have a bad habit of complementing with tiny string attached. The string is the fun part. Always looking for the string, that girl. Yea, Denise has energy in that art stuff. Shop always looks like a tornado struck it. Messy is characteristic of creative types. Must be very creative.(the string) She ate up what you said, no fooling. Were just funning her LOL.

The newspaper came down here a million years ago to do a garden article on the aquatic plant biz. The article came out and mentioned wife was my "impetus". OMG, did I hear that adjective for 20 years. Truth be known, wife said back then, that is your project and you deal with it.(jealous cause I quit my corporate job) 8 years later she was begging for a job, aaawh honey, corporate job getting you down ?? My poor little working stiff, let daddy take care of you(she red faced, pistol aimed). By the way, her phone is set to make a cash register ring when she makes an Etsy sale. Well it just rung and she is running her mouth in shear boast mode. Now I am only $400 ahead on this year's Etsy sales. Oh man is she bitter. so is life at the hacienda. gonna go weld some legs on that table pit. Gotta up my sales potential or hear from you know who

BTW... I got this camera that you pointed out awhile back as one of my x-mas presents. (really all I asked for figuring she wouldn't be buying me any rocks!) forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/73039/great-point-shoot-camera-150Didn't have time to deal with it until about a week or two ago. Read all the stuff (online manual) and figured I'd give it a go. Took some pictures and could NOT get them to import to my computer. Tried again a few days later. No go. Tried using wife's laptop - okay she tried, I don't know how to use a laptop - no go. Dang thing simply won't send the pictures to a computer. Figure something is wrong in there somewhere. Too late to return to Best Buy. Got a card reader yesterday. Took card from camera and using the card reader thingy, which just plugs into a USB port, pictures now load (import?) to computer! Guess this beats sending the camera back to Sony, so I will live with this fix. Gonna spend the day (once I take care of the lizard) learning how to take a decent picture. Once I get this thing figured out... look out! Anyway, thanks for the thread about the camera.

Looking forward to the Captain's photos. Nothing's changed, still in to that camera. Great machine and easy to use.
As far as importing with a card reader, perfect. That's the only way I know to do it. Never tried the cable method.
Bob, best to push menu button and set file size to about 5M. 10M and 20M way too big and will slow computers. 2M may not give enough detail at 6" X 8" blowup.
The dial on top of the camera is set to 'i (image of camera)' mode on mine = intelligent mode. Handles about everything I have had to photograph easily. Have not tried the other modes. Intelligent mode senses Macro photos automatically.
Good luck, I am used to it so let me know if you get stumped.
