I am so proud to be a new owner of a rotary tumbler and even more excited to be a newbie on a forum of vast amounts of information. Hello everyone. Names michelle. Glad to be here soaking up all the knowledge I can.

How far north is Northern BC? I drove across what seemed fairly far north for a New Mexican, this summer. Prince George to Prince Rupert with a minimalist rock stop in Burns Lake area. Saw more bears than grindable rocks, but sure enjoyed the people and the scenary. I made a run a jade from the Lillooet region but probably settled for serpentine due to lack of experience. BC was great to me and is well worth a trip back in the future. Tom BTW. My slab saw, vibratory tumbler and cab machine keeps me busy so I have never gone the rotary tumbler route. I cheat and let the surf and river flow due my tumbling.

Welcome to RTH. vegasjames Peruano. 30 minutes south of Prince George there is the little town of Hixon that you both passed by. If your ever in the area, shoot me a pm as I might be too. This is where my gold claim is. Your more than welcome to access it. Only 15 minutes off the highway with good road access.

Found some nice jade up there last time so my friend and I want to go back and find some more when it warms up.

Yes it is beautiful country here. And tons of treasure troves of minerals and rocks. Now if I can only get better at telling what is what. Haha.

I know there is Agate,Jasper and I believe Jade. The problem with prospecting is that my mind is on gold. And if the rock does not jump up and slap me. It goes out with the tailings. Last time I was there I dug up a 200 lb boulder that I think is either Jade or Serpentine. I don't have the knowledge to tell them a part. Your vast knowledge will be welcomed. I have extra pans and shovels if you need them.

Serpentine is much softer than jade.

There is also greenstone there to. Could have been one of the three. I wacked it with my pickaxe hoping to hear the ring everyone says Jade makes when hit. No ringing sound, only rattled hands from the handle.
