Went to the Roseville show today - this show is consistently one of the best shows in northern CA - the content is phenomenal from rough rock to slabs and everything else you would expect to find at a gem and mineral show. The show runs through tomorrow (Sunday) if anyone is thinking about going let me sweeten the deal below. Of course I spent waaaay too much money haha. Here is a sampling of some 'gems' I found today. Colla wood ... sold by the gram ... holy sh** price Big beautiful slab of Needles blue. I had never heard of this stuff until a friend generously gave me a hunk a few months ago - glad he did because I was able to recognize this when I saw it and pre-negiotate a 2nd mortgage on the house to be able to afford it lol. Dino bone Serious quality Maury Mtn. like I haven't seen in a while. The picture doesn't do it justice. Old stock red crazylace slabs. I see bunches and bunches of cabs coming from this lot. Some sort of orbicular rhyolite? It's going to make some really pretty cabs if it holds a shine at all.

Awesome score, Tommy! I went yesterday and spent like four hours at the faceting station picking Jay's brain. Didn't pick up much in the way of slabs, but I did get some beautiful stringy green moss agate that reminds me of Horse Canyon, and a tiny ***expensive*** piece of Wingate pass with plumes too good to pass up.

Aww too bad we didn't know we would all be there. We could have said hi. It's a great show.

Sweet scores, Tommy! That wood is amazing! Just remember- what good is money if you can't spend it? Right?

All of your picks are very cool!!! I love the old red crazy lace. Almost impossible to find the real good stuff (not just red stains) and when you do...$$.Those slabs are awesome. Same for the Maury Mtn. You dun good!!!

That is some of the best colla wood I have ever seen! Great score! Thanks. The vendor had a dozen more larger slabs of it - wish I could have bought more but at $1 a gram ...
