In fact, this was my first work in gold, but wasn't finished until yesterday ... make that today. Another rock that seems to be difficult to put a polish to. A bought in cab. Ovals... mmmm.

I really like the spot of gold on the bezel. Could be used for several reasons.

The asymmetry is wonderful. Like the way it all holds together.

Thank you all.
My thinking with the touch of gold was that it might be a little disappointing to buy / be gifted 'Apache Gold' only to find there wasn't any! Almost like giving a purse without a penny in (do you have that tradition too?)
I'd be interested in what might be any other reasons you'd have (it doesn't hide any blemishes)? So I put some in.
I made a small mark in the setting and had to take this to three different polishes to shift it. And then on photographing, it looked a little dull, so back it went. I've polished it so much that the soapstone has receded, giving the impression that the pyrite has started to lift. Imho, the polish is now better than ever.
