I put one like this on here years ago.It was id'ed as possibly a barite nodule.But I've been searching and it doesn't really resemble the pics I've seen. Any help appreciated.Gonna cut slices to polish and take to the rock shop.Would like to label correctly. All the centers of them that I've cut are a purplish color Thanks snuffy

Barite is soft. 2.5-3.5. Does it scratch with.... Say... Marble or steel?
Im saying I guess it wont.

It looks like some of what we call pink banded chert from just over the AZ border near St. George Utah. Lynn
