I think people are more into pipes now and less into the good old fashioned rolled herbage. It's because the stuff they grow these days is so freakin potent haha - one or two tokes is all it takes. Back in my smoking days pipes were only good for using up the baggie corner scraps that weren't enough to roll up - or for scraping out and smoking when times were hard LOL.

what is the hardest rock you have ever cabbed rockjunquie ? Believe it or not, I believe it was a Mookaite. But, Montana agate is pretty high up there, too. edit- come to think of it, bloodstone has probably been the hardest. Paiute Indian agate from McDermitt is the hardest stuff I've even worked with - it is truly a descent into impossible-scratches purgatory.

I make rings out of the blue G and it is tough as hell but drills and polishes quite easily. A lot of people talk about how hard jade and blue G is to work but I can drill three of those rings in the time it would take me to drill one agate or jasper. The blue G polishes easier than the jade though. The blue G I have has more yellow and less blue than what I would like but it still makes a beautiful ring. I got a mixed box and used up all the real blue stuff first.
There is an agatized pet wood around here that I have quit grinding because it takes forever and destroys my 50 grit velcro pads in a hurry. I would rather do a Montana than that stuff. Jim

Willow creek and OJ are stunning. Beautiful... Thanks, I'm partial to both willow creek and OJ. I think willow creek is a woman's stone. It's no wonder it's called the Queen of Jaspers.

All beautiful cabs, but that Oly Poppy is ace! I've got a camping trip planned on the penninsula two weekends from now. Right in the heart of poppy jasper territory. The trick will be to go in with a light pack, so I can leave room for a sack full of rocks.
