I just purchased a CabKing 6" from a well known and respected dealer whom I have purchased from and generally trust. It was sold to me as having "just a couple of hours on the wheels". I stated that I normally would not buy sight unseen but would trust his judgement. It looks like it has WAY more than a couple hours use to me but having never owned diamond wheels, I would appreciate your input. The price was $249.00 less than a new one, same shipping (free). It arrived today with a damaged cord and burned out light. It did not come with the wrench, apron, goggles or diamond paste that comes with a new machine. Those things aside, my concern is the wheels. Can the wheels be dressed or do you think there is enough life in them looking at the pics? Overall, I'm not feeling too good about this purchase... IMO a used piece of equipment should never sell for over maybe 2/3 of what it would cost new, even if pristine. That particular one, from what I see in the pics, should have been closer to 1/3. If you paid by papal I would immediately seek some kind of resolution. Either return it or get enough refunded to pay for making it as described.

Thank you for your time in answering Rockoonz. I really expected more from this dealer and I will contact them tonight. I did pay with PayPal but I hope he will do the right thing and accept it back and apply what I paid toward a new machine. Thanks again. Jeff A

That bald spot in the wheel didn't come from "a few hours use" unless they dug into the wheel with the stone or the wheel was defective. That wheel is unusable IMHO. I wonder if the wheels were run dry. You are right not to be happy. These machines use water and I am not fond of "repaired" electrical cords anywhere near water. I think in the seller's mind you are getting the machine for $249 + shipping off a new one so it is ok for you to spend a similar amount to get a "new" quality machine. I think you are stuck.

I have spliced cords with shrink tubing but that hacked tape job is awful.

Thanks for your input. Shipping is free on a new machine as, I think, it comes direct from the manufacturer (several sites, same price, free shipping). I inquired about the shipping on a new unit as this rock shop's website did not specify as free. That is when I was told they had a "VERY lightly used" one taken in trade. I have contacted them and hope to hear something back tomorrow. I will update then.

The cord is for the pump and with no way to turn on / off, maybe they had a switch installed that was removed before trading in. That is the point of contact to unplug the pump. Yikes! I have used shrink tubes also and they do work great.

good on you for not outing the vendor before they had a chance to make it right.
BUT
if they fail to make it right, then an outing is a must, IMNSHO

And as far as the heat shrink goes, get the kind with adhesive lining so if you happen to pull on the cord it want create a gap for water to enter.
