Actually a new template. Tella (rockjunquie) generously gave me two templates for large cabs that she couldn't use because the wheels are too close on her Geni to make large cabs. This is what I chose for the first cab with the new templates. I owe her a large cab so I'm trying out various patterns with the templates to see what will look nice. I have another shape in mind for her cab. This cab is Brazilian Agate and it is 3-1/4" tall. What do you think? Bob

Looks like those crème filled caramels that were around when I was a kid.

Nice cab Bob. I like the way you perfectly centered the crystal pocket. You must have a ton of Brazilian agate.

I say that cab has beautiful, bodacious curves.

Garry, I have quite a few slabs and rough Brazilian Agate but I still keep an eye out for good pieces. A few days ago when we went to the Madras Pow Wow I found this rock. What I saw was a 3lb piece with a druzy pocket in the middle. The upper right slab that looks a bit shiny is what the cut surface looked like. It had been sprayed with varnish and some had gotten into the crystals. I liked what I saw and the price was just $5. so I bought it. All the slabs in the photo came from the rock. In the center is the beginnings of my first cab from the material. The cab is about 2-1/2" tall. Bob

That was certainly a nice score! I really like the cab with the druzy in the center & there are a lot of nice pieces to play with. I like the cab at the top too. It looks like a nebula or something radiating out from the center.
