Just got back from a week in Lincoln and Omaha. We've had a bit of rain in the plains. So, the weather was cool, the UV index was low, the day was free, the time was right. Had morning swim practice and was done by 8:30. Headed to Almanza's to have a Colorado burrito (steak, potatoes, cheese, and salsa). Took a self portrait with the trusty Jansport leather bottom backpack which I bought for my wife, then girlfriend, 22 years ago (she doesn't use it anymore). I have the most luck finding rocks about midway up a hill, so I started out for these two attractive buttes. Nice rock field. Quite a few jaspers and idoevenoites here. The rain came on quickly. With the rain and the green in bloom the white shell of NoCo agates was easy to spot. I picked up all that I could find. Some interesting singles. Raspberry Jasper. I haven't seen this color combo before. Fulgurite? Small tear drop jasper Spilled tomato soup jasper Drove about 80 miles in total. Great day. It's good to be alive. Out, out (brief candle) Colin

Neat report and rocks. I went out to Pawnee once to look at birds, I wish I had looked for some rocks out there too.

Thanks for the great trip report. Don't you worry about lighting hitting you and making a human fulgurite, thereby making it impossible to feel good about being alive?

Thanks! All interesting. Are you going to tumble them? Agree with Jugglerguy. Fulgurites good. Alive good. Don't combine!
