Since I'm not going to be tumbling boulders any time soon (ala Jamesp) I found something that does a decent job on 1-3" rocks. I'm sure all will appreciate the professional videography in this short clip. About $20 ad HF....
Poetry MrMike, poetry. I take it that is a Harbor Freight diamond wheel ? The extreme RPM of an air grinder has to make fast work of cutting your rock.
Was only running about 40psi in the video so it wasn't top speed. I'll have to crank it up to see how it does. The wheels feel like 80 grit or so & will probably wear down fast.

Most of the 4 and 7 inch diamond cups for angle grinders are 30/40 grit.
I have been doing extensive research on cutting edge(no pun) Chinese diamond pre-grinding tools to connect to standard M14 5/8 arbor.
Got a security breach ordering from China on AE card. Found This company in Pompano Beach Florida near Miami port on Ebay for safer purchasing and Ebay protection:
Bob had mentioned and probably long forgot orienting the grinding wheel like a cab wheel instead of side flange operation. Will be calling and ordering this beast if the #21-#31-#41 is the diamond coarseness for many reasons. I prefer 20-30-40 grit diamond. I think this bit has a mix of those, must call them to find out as they speak ingles. Would just replace the diamond cup wheel and re-orient the guards on the king kong. This one would wear convex instead of concave like a cup wheel. Full 90 degree diamond corners for quick removal of pointed ends of tumbles. would do 4 inch
Just aren't going to be happy until you lose those fingers, are ya? Be anxious to see what that thing can do.
It is only 4 inches diameter so the vibration should be reduced compared to 7 inch wheel. 7/4 times more torque. Should bolt directly onto M11 threads on a bench grinder and deal easily with 3600 RPM. It has a vertical position and seems safer since you can work with the bottoms of your hands based. Will redesign guard so that only diamonds are exposed. He says it is 20 grit vs 30/40 that the cups are. The face is way taller/wider at 1 5/8" vs 7/8" for the cup. That's big deal.
The guy(Pedro VP/part owner) is from Brazil and very interested in what we do here. Well aware of lapidary. Wanted links to photos of lapidary stuff and he freaked out. Has access to import of Brazilian precious stones. Miami loaded with importers with port there. He is sending prototype and new products not yet on market. Great contact. dtiblades.com He's a live one.

I just ordered that beast above. It is used to wallow out core drilled holes in granite counter tops. 20 grit, beaver teeth.
LOL, two Chihuahuas almost ran captbob off. However he does have an arsenal.
He did qualify that, "somedays".
Bet that will really chew up rocks. I like the idea about mounting it horizontal. If it grabs a rock it would launch it into the ground (might bounce so watch the twig & berries) or the next county. Are these bits sintered? High or low RPMs?
