Hi all
Is anyone else going rockhounding with Teri at the Singleton, Walker and South Larremore ranches starting the 19th? I know Teri has some hunts going on before that, but I think the big hunting starts the 19th at the Singleton. I know irockhound was trying to make some of them. I'll be at the Singleton for 4 days and Walker for 4, and might jump down to the Stillwell for a couple days. If you come to the hunts, say "HI"...

Guess I missed something. Who is Teri and what rocks is he/she hunting?

Thanks for the links. Amazing rocks! Way too far from Florida, as most rocks worth having are.
Maybe if I ever get my trip to the Tucson show it's an area to hit on the way home. Hope you post pictures of your finds when you go.

captbob, Texas has very little land open to collecting, so check with Teri when you come through Texas and maybe she can help. On another subject, our niece, who just moved to Orlando, just got a blast from Matthew...her first hurricane.
ToivO, are you going to go out on the hunts with Teri?

my exact schedule is always kind of fluid and plan on starting on 24th and be done in 4 days then head toward NM. I plan on hounding one of the ranches but can't pin down an exact date until it gets a little closer.

Wished I had gone with her when at Alpine. I was there alone and she offered to take me. I went out to Woodward and was a bit lost till the last 2 hours of the day. Would have had a serious load if I had guidance. West Texas has little public land to hunt on.

That's the truth. I was hoping to have a free day or two during the time I'm in Alpine to head down to Eagle Pass to try roadside collecting between there and Laredo but it doesn't look very promising for me. I'd have to give up one of the ranch hunt days to do it☹️️
