I have a very small quantity of rocks that have moved to polish and I was peeking on them and pulled this one out. If I didn't have the bug before, I do now.

I did. I tried but had to look. I thought I did pretty good only keeping one out. Luckily the week gets so busy I won't even be tempted till Saturday afternoon. I may put this little guy back in and see what happens when I do that clean out. I'm kind of curious what it is.

What stage are you in ? Might want to put that one back in , it'll probably get shinier .

The only thing I have to say is... Have fun. If it's perfect or good or whatever, just have fun. The rock looks nice just wait till you start tumbling colorful rocks, it's even harder to be patient. Keep going.

I have one barrel that is going on week four in rough grind. One in second stage and one in polish. This came out of polish. I just put some ao polish on a paper towel and ran that over the rock. You were right. It can get shinier. I do like the feel of it though. I love the feedback. This is a fun hobby and I want to get it right.

Some of us don't tumble rocks, but are glad others do. Lots of outstanding little beauties come from tumblers.

Rule one. And I was told this from very good tumblers on this site. Stage one.. (Be patient) let the grit remove sharp edges. Digs groves or whatever. Because the other stages can't do it. That's the job of stage one.

I know what you mean about liking the feel of that rock , like a velvety feel to it . Wait til you get the wet look polish on them . Then be careful , slippery little devils .
