I am running a few Septarian Nodule Halves on Polish now on the recently re-motored Vibrating Lap. Using an Indoor/Outdoor carpet as the pad. It's not glued down to the pan, should it be? It is not rotating and is fixed in position by clamping the plastic bumper down. Did notice that when I press down on one of the nodules, the other nodules begin to move much better which leads me to believe that the pad needs to be glued down.
Thanks

The carpet pad is only for polish and does not need to be stationary. If you glued a pad in how would you use grit? If you are only using the vibe to polish I guess it wouldn't matter until you wanted to change the pad.

I have two pans, one for the 3 grit stages and a Polish Pan. It's polishing now, was just wondering if gluing it would be better. The Nodules should be done after tomorrow. I don't run it at night, only when it can be monitored.

My Dad give a vib he used to polish brass shotgun casings. And it says don't leave it unattended. Bought a timer switch so it runs 1/2 hr. On 1/2 off all night. It has done that cycle for more than a month with zero problems.

What Polish does anyone use in a Vibrating Lap? I am currently using Micro-Alumina.
Thanks

I use tin oxide... but if the Micro-Alumina works for you keep on trucking with it
