Very nice looking batch . Quite an impressive polish on them . I always find it very satisfying to self pick rocks and shine them up like that . You are on your way to a full blown addiction , obsession .
And don't apologize for a lot of pictures .

Not many do this well with pink granite. It about always undercuts too. Quartz done without frosting, excellent. You deserve an attaboy/attagirl

Those are beautiful. I'm at 500 AlO on my first batch (about 10 pounds) and i doubt i'll have anything finish with such a nice shine. My reload rocks are under a foot of snow so the whole batch is continuing stage to stage and the results are going to suffer for it. Looks like you're doing things the right way and getting a good finish for it, nicely done.

Looks like some of it may be felspar. Felspar is the pink part of your granite. It is softer than the white quartz component. So the felspar undercuts when tumbling granite. These may be quartz

I think those look great. I can't believe that's your first batch. I don't have any help for you in identifying them though.

Thanks for all the nice things you are saying about my tumble. The only reason they took shine is because I've been reading the advise on the boards for a while. I ended up leaving most of these to tumble for almost 6 weeks, until I couldn't feel flaws before taking them to second stage. The black rock I actually pulled out of the batch a couple weeks ago and when I posted it I was told it could be better so I threw everything back to prepolish ran it a while longer. Couldn't believe the shine it got. I'm very glad I found this group!

Very well done. I never could get that nice of a shine when only rolling the stones.

You've learned the biggest lesson - keep them in rough grit until shaped exactly how you want them to look. Very nice! And bonus points for an "all rotary" tumble.

You guys sure do know how to make a girl feel good. π I am enjoying this hobby very much so it's a huge boost to get results like this and hear nice things from folks with your experience.

I am in total agreement regarding the expert polish you have obtained from a rolling tumbler! It is just as fine as I have ever seen come out of a tumbler. Then there is the fact that you have self-collected your rocks. You must have a knack for selecting good, hard rocks that will take the glass-like polish you have achieved. Keep tumbling and always remember to show your work.

Those have a great polish on them. I can't help with the rock ID either, thats not a strong area of mine. Those are fantastic tumbles for anyone to do, let alone your first batch. Keep up the good work and keep sharing your results.

Very nice batch! You got a great shine on those. Extra credit for all rotary tumbles.
