I'm working on Pink Rhodochrosite 3.5 and Lapis Lace about a 5. You guys have any tips/tricks to get these shiny?

I use a genie, too, with diamonds and I get a decent polish on both the marble and the rhodo. What don't you like about your polish? They look polished in the picture. I am a BIG fan of working rhodo because of the great polish it takes. I like the polish on the last wheel, but because it takes to it so well, I will usually go to 50k. If you get it a little hot with 50, it really seems to like it. On the lapis, which is, I believe a marble, I just used the 6 wheels and got a good polish.

Thanks Tela I just finished wheel #5 so Next is the 3,000 grit. Seems to be going well I just love the marble so much I wanted to get a feel from others before moving forward and messing it up.

There isn't too much that you can mess up on the standard wheels. There are a few things, like jade, that you treat a little differently, but, in general, you're pretty safe with genie. Just use a lighter hand with softer materials.

I use an 8k between the 3k and 14k, then finish with 50k on soft stone.
Peace,
Rich
