I have been doing Sound and Lighting for the entertainment business since I was 11 years old in 1968 when all the equipment had tubes in it. Now-a-days I work in the Von Braun Center here in Huntsville doing the sound and lights for a 2000 seat theater and a 10000 seat sports arena which also does concerts sometimes. Last week we did Foreigner and Riverdance, today I am doing lights for Black Jacket Symphony, a Southeast area band that puts tours together based on rock albums from the 80's. Tonight they are playing Queen's album A Night At The Opera plus other selected songs by Queen, 2 shows tonight to sold-out audiences. I also provide Sound, Lighting and Stages for indoor or outdoor shows all over the North Alabama area. Have 2 large sound consoles with 20 and 40 channels, can provide up to 10 monitor mixes, using sound systems from 1000w to 12000 watts. Working on setting up a Dueling DJ Tour that should be performing for the first time within a month. I have a website where you can see the kinds of things I do but it is a couple of years out-of-date... wooferhound.home.mindspring.com/index.htmI've been doing this for 5 decades so if anybody has any questions about hooking up the gear or operation then go ahead and ask. One of the cool things about renting sound systems is that, everywhere I go, there is a party with good food and good music . . .

Very cool! That sounds like a sweet job. Lots of fun. My nephew is a DJ and does some sound work, too. I've been to a coupe of his shows. They are always a blast!

That does sound like a fun job. Do you ever get to meet any of the famous musicians?

Fun but hard work, too. Soundman makes it for the audience. In the few bands that I played in the soundguy always said it sounded best when my guitar was unplugged: sage advice.

Last week I ran spotlight for 5 shows of the Broadway play "Cinderella", Tonight I did lights for Charlie Daniels. As a stagehand I can not be Star Struck and pay attention to my job. However I found myself standing 10 feet from Billy Joel one time and my heart racing.

They didn't need to do anything after intermission. I wanna see Carrington. How were the boobies?

Is this the boobies that you were referring to? OMG this song made me laugh!!
