"Whether the weather be cold, or whether the weather be hot, We'll weather the weather, what ever the weather. Whether we like it or not!
We (central UP of Michigan) are weathering some of the most interesting I believe I have ever seen.
Yesterday, predawn, we had straight line winds at 70 mph, 80 SW of us. It actually shook my house enough that I felt it in bed. No power all day. Trees, power lines and poles, lots of billboards and signs sent to the ground. This morning there is 6 inches or so of snow on the ground. Tomorrow supposed to be in the 50's. I think I will like tomorrow. Although, I did stick my head outside to take an image of my wife shoveling snow. Surgery recovery prevents me from doing much more than speaking encouraging words. I find I am gifted at speaking encouraging words.
At least it keeps the bugs at bay. The weather, encouraging or discouraging words have no effect on bugs. Trust me on that one.

Are you up near Ontonagon ?

Ontonagon is part of the 'West end'. My camp is over there. I am in Negaunee. Just up the hill from Marquette. If you check weather in Marquette, you are really getting the Negaunee weather. The NWS place is a couple of miles from hear.

Haven't explored that area of the UP yet . Been close on either side , L'Anse and Munising . Mainly chasing waterfalls in the area .

My wife makes me enjoy waterfalls. We have a Michigan DeLorme atlas all marked up with times and dates of visits. If the falls lack signage, she will take an image of the page prior to visiting the falls. All her images of water falls are preceded by an image identifying the falls.
The falls will be roaring come Thursday/Friday. Time to do a little fishing.

A little over a hundred in the UP is all we have been to at last count . I prefer to see them when the water is about mid flow so there is more detail and action .
