I'm only on my fourth run ever so I am still learning the ropes
I've bought rough from Rockshed and enjoyed what I received.
Are there any sites or eBay sellers you would recommend to buy rough and grit from?
Thank you!

If looking for rough you should post what you are looking for here. Members here may already have what you are looking for.

I'm only on my fourth run ever so I am still learning the ropes I've bought rough from Rockshed and enjoyed what I received. Are there any sites or eBay sellers you would recommend to buy rough and grit from? Thank you! Welcome. Kingsley North is also a source for grit. I just bought 50 lbs of coarse grit from them. I've also used Rock Shed - I just look at the quantities I'm buying at the time in order to compare. Rock Shed is one source of rough for me, as has been rocktumbler.com. It just depends on what I was looking for at the time. I've yet to buy rough from Ebay, so I can't help you there. Dave

Does anyone know of a good place to buy some quality Ocean Jasper rough? I have gotten some from rock tumbler.com and it looks like some decent stuff but I would really like some larger pieces.

You didn't mention your location. I buy in 50lb. lots from Kleen Blast, they are all along the west coast, best price I can find. I get it in Portland, Oregon. You can look them up on web and I find the store prices to be a bit cheaper than they list on the website. This is where I get the grit, not rough material to tumble.

Maybe madagascarminerals. (Sorry I have not figured out cut and paste on this chrome book.) They call it orbicular jasper. I have not ordered orbicular jasper, just not my rock, looks like a disease to me. I did purchase some desert jasper from them. I was pleased with the larger sized tumbling rough. If you decide to order, make a phone call. I talked to an exceptionally pleasant lady by the name of Lucy. As soon as I have an address at our new digs, I will be in touch with her again.

I have a Regional A Priority mail box full of tumbling material that full to the top. Can't do a medium anymore because it just gets too heavy for me. This one weighs almost 14 pounds. It's got a pretty good selection of rock in it from saw trimmings, end cuts & some slabs too that you could break up for your tumbler.

lancemountain - if you look at the Amazon advertisement below the forum, the 500 grit advertisement is from The Rock Shed who also sells on Amazon. Best of both world - you get to purchase from The Rock Shed who we all love - and at the same time help this forum financially through the affiliate program.
