Turned out very well. The laker is a beauty.

Really got the shine going there. Love them all. I like to roll mine in a rotary a couple weeks to round them up or grind them on a wheel you knock off the sharp edges. but like the speed of the vibes. Like the awesome polish it puts on your rocks too. Really have to be on your toes with a vibe. Like a new born baby always cleaning, changing and feeding it. But the results are pure joy.

You sure have a pretty batch there and well polished, to say the least.

Great job! I'm really thinking about finishing out some cabs in my lot-o. My 30lbs of rough will never be ready!

Beautiful cabs that's a great batch. Was going to ask about the shaped ones in pic 2 but re-read and got my answer. That laker's a beauty too, the shaping kept a lot of personality.

Very nice! How did you shape those rocks into cabs? I've been taking slices with my cheapo tile saw and beveling the edge, then rotary tumbling them for a week. It seems to be working great for me, but I tossed a few in the loto skipping the coarse grind to see what happens.
Great looking rocks!

The cabs were slabbed, trimmed, and ground up to a 600 diamond wheel. Then straight into the lot-o.

Sounds sweet! Can't wait to get some real equipment someday!

There are a lot of rocks in the second picture that are cut into basically the same shape, but I can't figure out what shape it is. So, what is it?
Nice shine on the batch. I run my rocks for two days in each stage and also add a 1000 stage. You're doing them much quicker and they still look good. That Lot-O is a great machine.

Sounds sweet! Can't wait to get some real equipment someday! I don't own any equipment other than the tumblers. I just joined the local lapidary club. Free coffee, 5 bucks a day to use all the saws, laps, grinders, torches.

I run my rocks for two days in each stage and also add a 1000 stage. You're doing them much quicker and they still look good. That Lot-O is a great machine. Africa! I take no credit for whether or not they look like africa though. Most of this stuff was done for friends at the club. Most of those cabs are good ol' flint ridge flint. I decided to see how quickly I could finish these, because the customers needed them for a show. I've found the key is to not add too much grit. If you add too much, it doesn't break down, and you don't get the finer and finer grinding break down causes. You gotta think of it not as grinding at 120, but grinding starting at 120. I also skipped burnishes between stages. To clean I added enough water to really slow it down, and 1 drop of dawn. Wait 30 seconds, then a quick rinse and then back in business. Used the same barrels too with no noticeable impact on the finish. I think I'll stick with this method until it stops working. I have turned into the tumbling guy at the club. I offer advice to anyone, and direct a lot of them to the trove of information this forum is.

Beautiful work! It's fantastic that you have a club in your area so you don't have to buy all of the equipment, too!
