These were all from material I collected at the Singleton Ranch... Note: I replaced the first photo with a more true color version. I have many more Walker and Singleton cabs in the works, including one yet to be cut with an unusual lime green plume. And , from the South Larremore Ranch, a killer piece of peanut agate. No decision yet on whether I want to actually cut it up...
And this Singleton... Thanks for looking! Craig

Spectacular specimens! I love plume but man oh man do I have a thing for peanut agate. That one is off the charts nice....Mel Mel, Jeannie, MrMike, morerockspleaz... I had seen some similar rock (but not quite as good) being collected at the Walker a couple of years earlier, but when I went back to the same hillside I couldn't find any, even with digging. There is another area with plentiful peanut agate on the west side of the ranch, but it's just the variety with gold jasper peanuts. I was really bummed that I couldn't find any of this type and had pretty much written it off, then I found a piece on the South Larremore that Teri (our guide) believes washed down Calamity Creek onto the Larremore. Kind of a miraculous find, considering... Craig

Craig, I have a couple of slabs found on Woodward back in the 1970's that are the geode conglomerate type peanut agate. Also have a couple tiny slabs cut from Rio grande stuff. As you say though, the commonest type tends to be the kind with jasper blobs of various colors. Here's the only Rio one I've cut with some of the geode conglomerate look to it.

Those are very nice! It almost looks like the base material on that one was a light color agate...

Craig, had to look a bit to find these pics but these are the Woodward Rch examples....Mel This one has a little plume agate in the conglomerate. Nodule it came from was really weird, shaped like a cornucopia horn.
