Found my polished rocks (they were hiding from me) and got some photos for ya.
The whole shiny batch. Lighting a little harsh, there's actually more oranges to the mix.
Most of these self collected in the desert, but not all.
Red one front and center is AZ pet wood, possibly from some pieces given to me by gr at the BBQ in Quartzsite a couple/three (four?) years ago. Thanks, Gary.
Stromatolite and conglomerate from CA desert
Couple slabs of carnelian (left), crazy lace, not sure where it came from, maybe from swap meet or a rock show? Palm bog in center, more conglomerates from desert.
Stromatolites self collected in CA desert (center), plus other stuff.
Corals self collected near Ocotillo Wells, Ca.
Forget what this is called. Mel Sabre52 knows what it is.
An agate with turtle-ing. Hard to get a decent pic of it. It's really cool, take my word for it.
Link to album if you just hafta see all the photos (28 total)
I finally got them posted, yay! Hope you liked them. Jean

Super sparkly, Jean. I like all the self collected stuff, wish I could get out and find my own tumbles. You have some cool conglomerates there. Really like the one featured in the fourth pic. And the AZ pet wood. Good stuff all around, thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Randy. I still suck at taking pictures, though. But I have an excuse, always in a hurry, lol. I just don't have the patience to spend a lot of time on it.
And I also agree with Mel, you and Jeremy make me want to throw my old POS camera away... But both of you guys have put up some really awesome photos here. Something for us all to aspire to, or give up because.
Naw, I wouldn't do that!

Looks like "Starry Night" by Van Gogh. Rob, that's as good a name as any. I'm thinking it was some type of palm root? It definitely has areas of differential hardness. It tumbled and polished much better than I thought it would. Picked this one up from a woman thinning out her rocks, did not cost me anything. That, and the rest of the truckload... Was doing her a favor, taking it off her hands.

Love the Orson Wells Agatas. Star struck shine. Beautimus. Individual photos of the whole batch ? Rooster feet ? Thank you, James. Somehow, I just knew you were going to bring up Orson Welles, lol. As usual, I was in a hurry today, rushing to get pics taken and posted to share. So, now I suppose you want me to take individual photos of each and every rock? Any in particular? Will see what I can do for you, but probably not for a couple days. What is the rooster feet you mention? Are you thinking rooster tail? Don't think I have any in this batch. I'm kinda partial to the corals, stromatolites and fossilized sea life myself. Sewer monsters!

Did you stack the bowls for a full load ? The colors are off, but that one brown and black agate has similar markings to rooster foot agate.

jamesp , I didn't weigh the batch, but probably somewhere close to ten lbs. I think that's the stated capacity. They say to fill the bowl to an inch below the top of it. When I ran this batch, I realized I forgot to burnish the previous batch at the end. I can see it makes a difference, this load definitely has a better shine. ETA - I have two bowls, one dedicated for polish only, but I have never stacked them. I can see where it would make it more work when checking progress of the load. I think Rich wigglinrocks said you can stack the B, but not the A. Larger motor in the B? Heavier springs? I was wondering how the clips would work to hold two bowls, they are not long enough. Now I know why.

Now I know why. Looks like 10 pounds. Nice that it finishes 10 pounds with such a small motor. The Vibrasonic uses a 1/3HP to do 14 pounds. That is about 6 times more electricity. Plus the Gy Roc does it with 1550 RPM motor. Vibrasonic has 2 belts and turn at a belt eating 3600 RPM. Mind you the Vibrasonic will handle a 50 pound hopper so the counter weights are turned way down for a 14 pound hopper. At about 20% countered. I order a 50 pack of o-rings for $33. Eats 2 belts about every load.

Now I know why. I have 2 model A's one has a 1.7 amp motor and the newer one has a 2 amp . The little model B has a 1.1 amp , lot smaller size motor . I have gotten a couple springs from Kingsley for both models , the stock numbers are the same . I think the B might be a bit gentler if they used a lighter spring but they are designed for stacking , so the heavier springs . The piggyback clips are for the model B . Can also get a vibe lap pan for the model A which I think sits on top of a bowl .

Hey Jean, I found similar on the Rio. Tumble polished. that stuff would look great wire wrapped. Lots of conglomerates on the Rio Grande. One of the Texas feeder rivers is a large property that used to allow fee collection of it's fine conglomerates. this one was the only one I could find like it.
