To keep from further hijacking Tommy 's post, I thought I would bring jamesp challenge over here. Without pictures it didn't happen!!! Yes, photos while you gals are reminiscing. Okay rockjunquie lets see a picture of your hot punk rocker self!! My daughter was up at my Moms earlier in the week and sent me a picture of my senior picture that she found. This was early 80's. Sorry - no punk rocker. I was always the 'good kid' (not to say that punk rockers weren't good kids). Had lots of fun friends, and fit into a lot of the different clicks, but have always been pretty darned straight laced.

Not a punk rocker, not even a punk yet, lol. That came much later . About 6 months old here.
And just one more. Can you stand it? My sister Janet and me.
This is what happens when you jump off the washing machine, expecting your mom to catch you (who, I'm quite sure, was not even paying attention to me, lol), and you hit to concrete garage floor face first. Ya see, there is a reason for the way I am!
And yes, my hair is STILL blond (albeit a bit darker, but going platinum), and STILL totally out of control.
Just wanted to give you a chuckle for your Friday. Jean

My mom had the hardest time keeping clothes on me as a little kid (I think she finally gave up). Might have trouble locating one I can post.

That was one heck of a shiner rockpickerforever ! Before I read the caption I was wondering if that was sister induced. Love the hair! Matches the black eye and goose-egg.

Not many photos from the younger years..Mom and Dad didn't take photos.. Here I am with my oldest son Shawn..A year or two after I got out of the Army, early 1970's...Quit cutting my hair, for a long time, quit shaving, but had to trim the beard, because I was in the oilfields.. (gas mask, had to seal).. Love it Fossilman!! Quintessential early 70's fight the establishment look. I've always like a man with long hair (just don't tell my follicle challenged hubby). And your son is a cutie!!

No, not sister induced, lol. But seemed to have a lot of shiners back when. We had a wooden teeter-totter my dad built, it was on the patio, for crying out loud. Falling when I was younger was probably a good thing - I learned how to fall and not get hurt. Like the three times I have fallen off the truck in the last few years, the time I missed the ladder coming down from my bed in the trailer... You get the idea. So far, I've survived, knock on wood.
Edit to add - The infamous teeter-totter, on concrete. I suppose that would be a criminal offense in this day and age?
Me on the left, circa Oct '59. In Halloween costumes, no less. Even did some stupid things, can you imagine? Like riding the teeter-totter with roller skates on. Not in this photo, though. The kind with the key you just put on your regular shoes? One of my brothers (in pic above, lower right) even rode his tricycle (a few years after this) with skates one. Ended up in a trip to the doctor to get stitches.
Sorry for crummy pic quality, my sister scanned a bunch of old color slides. Could have stood to be cleaned up first.

Have a big box of old pics, grade cards, year books, book reports, sports programs, news clippings and such. My mom kept everything and then dropped it on me a couple years ago.
Senior Homecoming dance, 1989
Aqua Net stock was high that year, I would imagine. Never enjoyed putting on a jacket and tie. This was more comfortable attire in high school.

Now I see why your boys are like night and day. One favors you, the other his mom.
I didn't go to any dances, senior prom, or even graduate on stage with the rest of my class. Had better things to do, ha!

Ooops! That's not my wife, Jean, just a high school girlfriend. (wife's better looking ) I was going for old school 80's look earlier, didn't meet my wife until after college. Now I feel obligated to put one up of us, but I'll still go vintage, before we got married.
