Since we moved in with Conn I have no idea where I put my old picture albums but I’ll find them today. Gotta warn everyone IT ISN’T GOING TO BE PLEASANT 😂 you remember the story of the ugly duckling? Well... let’s just say I came into my own later in life 🙄 You must have been wearing a mask. Pluck and cute as a button when you stopped by here. Thought you were a lost college gal. Funny how people change. Like tall lanky girls in high school don't get much attention. They grow up and fill out and have to carry a stick to keep the mens away. I didn't hit puberty till 16 or 17. Complex galore awkward. I’m ok now Jim and cute as a little girl but my pre-teen/teen I had short untamable afro hair 😂

Let it go curly in summer of graduation and finally got #ayed lol. Ladies would pay to have that thick head of hair you have. I noticed.

1937 - Beaver Utah. I was already going to the dogs. 1940 - Reno Nevada - I was riding high - stuffed horse. It went downhill from there. 1945 - 3rd Grade in Austin Texas. 1949 - Still in Austin. One of MANY. On my bike with a friend on the back going down 16th street nearly to San Jacento Blvd. Lots of traffic so I slammed in the brakes. My friend hopped off the back and I did my only bike somersault. 1954 - Bingham Utah. Me and my cousin Lew. He was killed 3 years later. On the Bingham road. One of those huge mining Utes ran over his car. 1952 - Austin Texas. The only time I was FAR LEFT. 1957 - passport photo as I headed for Uruguay. 1961 Orem Utah. Wedding Photo with Naoma (Note the a - not an i) 1983 - Prove Utah. Scanned photo in front of the Atari Store in the University Mall. 2017 - Enoch Utah. With my oldest grandson. Oh, and of course my normal placid self.

It's funny- when I was doing the pink hair and liberty spikes my mom hated it, but when my daughter became mini me, she loved it. She didn't catch the grief that I did. When you did it, your Mom probably had never seen it before. You turned out great, so now she's less worried and doesn't give her granddaughter as much grief.

But the biggest surprise came with seeing the similarities having my fathers picture next to mine and my son at the age of 18.... 3 gen 18 by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr No rebels over here, simple tastes nothing to far out of the norm..... Can't deny the genetics with those 3 pictures Kurt.

Having had to get out the album for my horsie photo, I thought I would post more too. I was blond until middle school. Then it turned brown. Now it's turning gray. My Mom and I Christmas '66 Mom and I again, this time at the cottage. AuGres, Michigan about 1969 I would guess. Seems like I was not getting the answer I wanted. Cottage again. Girl scouts. Just got all my badges. I would guess 5th or 6th grade. Middle school - my most rebellious time. My mom hated my hair in my eyes. Second from left. By high school I figured out how to get the hair out of my eyes. This was the Farrah Fawcett hair days. 1997 my daughter on my lap. First husband and my mom. The only time I cut my hair short since middle school. Lasted only the one hair cut, then long again. ETA - aught to give equal time to my DH#2. When we got married in 2007 Paul had full custody of his 3 kids (son and two adopted daughters). My biological daughter is on the far right. Boy did this change my world!!

I had to dig out an old album, but I knew I had a horse too!! Didn't have the horse, but the duds to go with one - This was actually a Halloween. My mom was always a big Halloween fan.
Oh wait, I DO have a pony pic! Will have to upload to Flickr (Thanks a bunch, PB!). Gimme a minute...
Okay - Photo taken atop the valiant steed some man trailered around from neighborhood to neighborhood during the early 60s, making money by taking pics of kids.

Thoroughly enjoyable thread. I’ll have to dig for some old photos and load them up.
Re hair color: I always assumed I had black hair. Might be because I wasn’t aware of hair color until about sixth grade; by then it was black.
However, a few years ago, I found my baby book. Tucked in it were two braids cocoa colored. My braids. I think I was about six when they were lopped off.
My driver’s license now says gray, but it is really a mix of black and white. Doesn’t matter.
Never wanted a horse...

I have always wanted a horse, since I was a little girl. However, now that I am older and oh so much wiser, not so much. I have learned that they are a lot of work, take up a lot of your time, and are expensive to keep (boarding, food, vet bills). I can't even afford to have a dog right now!

fantastic5 , you had such a look of absolute glee on that horse! Gave me a smile, too. Boy, you sure favor your mom! rockpickerforever , you look like you're having a blast, too! I never wanted a horse. Ever. In fact, when I was going through pictures, I found one of me on a horse and I did NOT look at all happy. Loving all the pictures!!! Here's one I didn't upload before. Mom said I LOVED "chatting" on the phone. Boy how times have changed! LOL!

... now if horses came with brakes, steering wheel, and a padded, comfortable saddle, I might like it!

Ok here's 1 of my senior pictures. Taken with then girlfriend, now wife. This was taken summer of 1990. After graduation it didn't take long to grow up & loose the locks. Here's 1 from last month, visiting my 18 year old Emily after her 1st couple weeks at college. Much less hair, but still as pretty. 😁
