I recently found some odd tube agate at Burro Creek, is it a fossil or just cool tube agate? I am not aware of any fossils ever found in the area, reminds me of the Indonesian Palm root agate.

Looks like some type of fossil to me. I find similar in WI.
Maybe this will help: During the Precambrian, Arizona was home to a shallow sea which was home to jellyfish and stromatolite-forming bacteria. This sea was still in place during the Cambrian period of the Paleozoic era and was home to brachiopods and trilobites, however it withdrew during the Ordovician and Silurian. The sea returned during the Devonian and was home to brachiopods, corals, and fishes. Sea levels began to rise and fall during the Carboniferous, leaving most of the state a richly vegetated coastal plain during the low spells. During the Permian, Arizona was richly vegetated but was submerged by seawater late in the period.

That looks very interesting. I've never seen anything like that from that area but it is always possible to find strange or unusual things there. Looks like you have bog agate or palm bog wood especially looking at the cut areas. It could be fossils but I'm no expert.

I'd say tube agate and not fossil but Burro Creek does have a lot of odd types of material. Just foesn't look quite right for palm or any other type fossil to me. Cool specimen!....Mel
