Hi All,
So I just picked up my first tumbler (Lortone 33A), I feel I've read more good than bad about it and as a first tumbler I think I'll be ok for the time being.
That said I'm curious if anyone has any examples of before, during and after each stage images?
My intent is to create a picture reference of "what will that rock look like" from rough to polished. I think the exercise itself will help me determine what to pick up next time we're wandering the beach and I wonder if the community knows of anything like this already. Granted I'm a beginner at this so the end result may be better but all the more reason to do more of it.
Thanks -Sean

Frankly, I have no solid answer for you; have you done an advanced search to locate any such "stage/process reference" on this forum? Btw, I'm a newbie too; I haven't even gotten any of my images shared here(aka: raw/rough finds-that's all i have so far in this hobby)! I haven't tumbled before either, however, I have seen mere handfuls of comparisons(before tumble to after pics); I assume the many active here are so far past "beginners" tumbling stage, maybe there has not been a need for said reference...or because the forum/site itself has been around for a decade+ (i think) & a huge possibility is that your inquiry would be dug up there[ hence why I suggested/asked if you've done advance searches. This forum will pull up everything past & present & the OG members are SO PLEASANT; they'll post links here for you to follow if they know of any related or exact material you're hunting. All being said, my personal wants would love to see a "complete reference/guide". Possibly a book on Amazon is availble? Personally, I'd use your reference, but I'm one who wants the added info about each rock/gem & geographical points, etc...ie: one that would depict each comparison of the 50 states (since I'm in USA), or country . I'm probably making a fool of myself writing this- especially if something like this does exist, I've been seriously blind! Sorry for my long reply, but I almost asked a gem cutter on here the other week if he'd add a pic of the rough before he finished faceting; I get nervous requesting things since I'm new & I held off. Hope my greenie advice gives u insight either way! Happy Friday! -Brandi
