Hi all Here are some cabs I have finished since the first of the year. This is the first post....there will be a few... Let's start with some Australian Opalites Beacon Hill Agate from Oregon Idaho Cady Mountains Agates. The first one I self-collected last year. The second one I purchased the slab at Stoddard Wells the day before. It is a very intense red. I couldn't get it to show how intense it is. And Lavic Jasper (from The trip with Bluesky78987 last year) Cheetah Agate ...Dark but with a lot of depth. The red orange splotches are mostly inside. Lucky Strike thunderegg core from Oregon (self-collected). I've had this laying around for 3-4 years and finally got back to it. Mtorolite from Namibia. Very plumey. I wish they were more spread out so you could see them better. Mexican Flame Agate Multicolored Plumes from the Singleton Ranch in Texas (self-collected) Walker Ranch Plume (self-collected). I broke this one. It used to be about 1/4 inch taller with a longer plume tail. All for now. Thanks for looking. Craig

Very nice set - especially the Walker Ranch Plume. FYI, Beacon Hill is in Idaho, not Oregon. I collected many fine nodules there long ago.

Very nice set - especially the Walker Ranch Plume. FYI, Beacon Hill is in Idaho, not Oregon. I collected many fine nodules there long ago. My bad...been a long time since I was there. We hit that whole area along the Oregon/Idaho border but couldn't collect at Beacon Hill because the club wasn't going out. Sometimes I wasn't sure which state we were in...haha. I ended up buying a few nodules at the time and then a few more this year at Quartzsite. This was from one of the old ones. Took me a couple of cuts to realize I had to cut across the bottoms to get the inclusions.

socalagatehound , Yes, figuring which state some of the collecting areas are in is a little confusing, especially at Graveyard Point. Beacon Hill is a bit north of Boise, about 20 miles northwest of Weiser. I was there in the old days when you could shovel nodules out easily from the topsoil but now it's a different story. I've never run into any agates quite like them with what I call "paisley" multicolored material on the bottoms and whitish fortification agate above.

Wow! beautiful cabochons Craig! You are a man after my own heart with the plume agates.
Impossible to pick favorites but the Walker Ranch, the Lavic, and the Cheetah are flat out gorgeous. That Lavic is far and away the nicest Lavic cabochon I've ever seen.
