Beautiful. Thanks for posting. Can I ask you what lens you use to take these?

It is amazing what mahogany obsidian looks like with a macro.

I'd love to have #6 in a huge print!

I'd love to have #6 in a huge print! #3 is really cool too. Those are my two favorites. Thanks again for the awesome pictures.

could look at those all day, calendar time. those qualify. Another whole world in those agates, especially Texas agates. Cherts too. we miss out not looking at this stuff by not seeing them magnified. You could unveil even more features with higher magnification as it does not stop at 30X and 40X. some rocks show best at 100x which is no longer macro but micro. Guessing they have lenses for such that connect to your DSLR. I believe it was Sabre52 that wished he had a fine stereo microscope for looking at these subjects.

I really enjoyed both of your macro posts. One of my favorite ways to view rocks. Thanks.

All very nice, but #3 takes the cake! More great work.

You know, the danger with that is that these photos show off all of the mistakes you made in the polishing process. All...none of them.
It's so cool to see the details of the rock like that. It really shows off their beauty at a whole other level.

ALL stunningly beautiful shots txrockhunter! How are you setting up your light source and what magnification do you find most satisfying to your taste... because your taste in subject matter is definitely GOOD. Glenn
