Yes, Jax the run of the house. She can be on the beds or the furniture. I also have little "caves" set up around the house for her and dog beds around the house.

Nope. No way. Yet I know that when we are not home, they do utilize the sofa, and if given the chance of an open door, a bed. But they know they should not, so they try very hard not to let us see it....

I don't have a dog. I have Cat. He loves to sleep on the bed. I let him when we aren't in it, but I absolutely hate sharing a bed with him. He gets between us, puts his legs out to reach one of us and then backs into the other. Basically, forcing us onto the edge of the bed. He's a bed hog. DH doesn't mind as much as I do. So, on occasion he gets away with it- til I put him out.
I answered the poll as if he were a dog because Cat is very much like a dog.
ETA- He's bigger than a lot of dogs. He's a big Tom- without the balls.

My last dog Bear slept w/ me, I eventually had to build a stowable ramp for him to get in, hips just had no hop left. My present charge Ebo, only gets up there during fireworks, thunderstorms, or target practice by the neighbors. He prefers camping out in the nice weather. As long as it's not a breed that sheds alot, I don't mind 'em in the bed.

He does sleep in a bed, but mostly with our son or my mom in law.

Don't have a dog but the wife has 2 cats. They, For some strange reason, insist on sleeping draped over MY feet. I don't know what the body temperature of a cat is, but on the cold Iowa nights we have here they sure keep your feet toasty !

No vote from me. We no longer have a dog. However, our last dog slept in a bed at the foot of our bed. Dogs were not allowed on furniture in our house.

Both our dogs sleep in bed, one is 9 lbs, one 40 lbs. My wife had a hip replacement and is sleeping in another room. The dogs are with me, king size bed, I estimate that they give me about 15"!
Our cat passed away but she slept in bed on occasion, quite a mix.

My doggie and best buddy is gone now, but yep, he slept on the bed with me. Only bad thing was, he had a short tail and liked to sleep with his tail near my nose. Not really a pleasant sight to wake up to, and I had to make dang sure not to feed him any food what gave him gas *L*.....Mel

If I shift positions, she swats my foot. She is only 15 pounds, but when she's asleep it feels more like 40.

My small dog (Yorkie) was allowed in the bed. He like to curl up under the covers. The Vizla and Husky slept on the floor by the bed. My cats are allowed although sometimes I wish they weren't, but like really? Your going to tell a cat what not to do?

Never had bigger than a medium-size dog. We get cold nights here year-around and the bed is one place the cats and dog are allowed to jump up (though the cat does tend to take over the computer chair). Both sleep like babies and the extra warmth is appreciated no matter where they position themselves. Difference is the dog would sleep till noon as long as I'm content to lie in, while the cat knows when it's breakfast time and makes sure everyone else knows it, too.

Gypsy sleeps wherever she wants. She prefers to sleep under the covers curled up in the small of my back when it's a little nippy in the trailer.

My girlfriend and me have 3 dogs 50-110 pounds. The medium dog loves to snuggle with us in the bed. the little one from the dog shelter will get up on the bed in the morning to get his morning snuggles. Our bed is a Waterbed and the big dog feels uncomfortable on it, can't figure it out.
Rock People are more outdoorsie and into nature so I should have realized that most of you guys would be close to your pets. I think that if I asked this to a more general public like my FaceBook page, I would see less pets sleeping with their owners.

Much to their chagrin, ours are made to sleep (in dog beds) on the floor next to our bed just out of general necessity. Charley is a long-legged 100 lbs who could take up most of our queen bed laying on his side with his legs stretched out. No thank you Every now and then they get a little naughty and just kind of accidentally slide onto the bed just to see if we notice...
