Our weather turned nasty today. 107 degrees at 2 PM and we're only 16 miles inland from San Diego Bay. Fires breaking out in the back country. So these cabs, while started in spring, must be summer cabs Amethyst Sage Moroccan Kerrouchen Seam Agate And, just for fun, I was trying to take a picture to show how well it polished up and it came out like this... Mojave Plume Agate from Arizona, collected by Pat McMahon Namibian Mtorolite with plumes. Maybe too many plumes. Lots of softness so surface is a little uneven. Namibian Copper Complex. The fractures are well healed and it looks really cool in the hand. Thanks for looking.

I especially like the Mojave plume, it is gorgeous! I'm less than a couple miles south of you, but we only just hit 101 degrees at 3 pm. Must be because you are up on the hill. So sad about the fires, I figured we were in for it with the high temps. People and horses are being evacuated now. Homes burned. My friend Richard (he has a website, sells slabs) lives in Alpine about 1.5 miles south of the fire. Hope the fire stays away from him. Wishes and prayers to all the people in harm's way.

Hi Jean! Thanks!
Yes it's bad in Alpine. The Coach I work with at El Capitan HS lives there and got an evacuation notice. Fortunately all he has is a huge dog, a couple cats and some chickens. Got them all couped and ready to go. He hasn't left yet because the fire is closer to the Viejas Casino where they are evacuating people to...go figure.

I can't pick a favorite. They are all so beautiful in their own way.
Very sorry to hear about your temps and the fires. We finally got the start of the monsoon here. Raining like hell for the last couple of hours. We needed it as bad as you guys do.

Rain... Man we could use that. Here the humidity is at 9% and now the winds are coming up in the fire area...25 to 30 mph...probably fire generated.

Yeah, the heat will do that to the winds. Saying a prayer that they get that thing under control a bit and that the weather decides to make it easier for them to do it.

Wow, those are all fantastic cabs. That Namibian Copper one looks really cool but I wouldn't have guessed it was solid material just from the look of it. Gorgeous color on that Amethyst Sage and the plumes are great too. Ah heck, can't pick a favorite.
