..... a sailor's delight. Sky- Arizona wood. Mast & boom -tiger eye. Ocean - African blue lace. Sails and hull - Polka dot (without the dots).

Were the pieces cut out jig saw style & adhered to some sort of backing material ?
did you finish sand/polish after it was assembled or before?
Or a little bit of both?

Tanks Ed Thanks for the comment, Ed. I assembled it upside down (unpolished , using my Genie and Foredom tool - no jigsaw). I then lapped the back, and glued basanite to the back for strength, then polished the front. The frame was put on last so you wouldn't see the basanite from the sides.

mast and the body of the boat is so masterfully inlaid or fitted in slapping ideal translated into finesse stone techne!
