A friend of mine picked up an F1 , it came with a pretty thick 4" blade . He wants to use the saw with a thin blade but isn't sure what diameter blade will fit the saw . Looks like 6" will work with the slot in the top but won't leave much room to the front . Any recommendations will be taken into consideration . Thanks .

I would not want much room to the front, but the clearance to the bottom is critical.

Yes, measure from the middle of the arbor shaft to the bottom of the tank( or back). You need clearance both ways. While you are in the saw, measure the arbor diameter so that if its not a standard 1/2" or 5/8" you can plan in the buying process.

Went to get the measurements today but he had it put away , taking off for the weekend . Will find out Monday . Thanks

Every HP trim saw I know about was with a 5/8" arbor hole.

I just did a quick ebay search for “highland park f1” and the only one listed for sale is listed as a 6 inch.
