Tammy and I went on a small road trip to northern California (Redwoods)... Did some coastal hounding for a few hours.. Found a few goodies, will post photos later on.... Cali sure has a lot of different types of green material, WOW!

Serpentine is the state Rock. And of course there's plenty of jade.

The wood is incredible!
The lighter green/blue one from Ca does look like Jade The quartz/jasper stuff looks a lot like what I got up at Area 54. They tumble great!

It certainly is cool material!! Nice finds.
Beaches near me (So Cal) are best hounded during the winter, when the winter storms pull all the sand out. Beaches that were covered with sand during the summer, turn into beaches of cobbles. Of course, the water is a little cooler then, but you also get the super hi/super low tides then.
Mike, next time you make it to Northern Cal, don't forget to hit the rivers. Have found some nice river-tumbled rocks in the Russian river near Ukiah.

As I was showing my wife - there was pieces there that were well over a few hundred pounds.. All I could do was look and drool... I would say four types of green material there, the regular green fractured jasper,I just let it set right where it laid... Even the red Jasper was agate and quartz filled on the fracture areas..
