I recently added a couple new pieces of equipment to our Lapidary Shop. The first being a Diamond Pacific 40T that holds as Shawn told me from The Rock Shed about 55 lbs of material. The nice thing about this machine is that it can be upgraded to the 65T which is the 90lb model by upgrading the Drum. I presently have all 7 mohs hardness material that includes 6 lbs of Bubble Gum Agate, 6 Lbs Dessert Jasper, 6 lbs Med Mixed Rock,,,, 6 lbs Carnelian Nodule, 5 lbs Lavic Jasper from aDave, 6 lbs 30 Grit, 6 Lbs Ceramic Media LG/SM and 1 Gal de-mineralized R/O Water (that’s all I Use in the tumblers) so a total of about 49 Lbs of material. I opened the tumbler up after 1 week and added an extra 2 pounds of grit and a little water. I was very pleased at the rounding of the rocks thus far, how far I will take them into rounding is yet to be seen. The second machine is a Thumler Ultra Vibe 18 Industrial 18 lb Capacity Vibratory Rock Tumbler. That thing ROCKS!! I mean it is smooth and the agitation really works nicely. The capacity matches the Thumler B because they are close to the same capacity. Being I have 4 of those they will go nicely with the UV-18. Here is a Video of them in operation.

I like your "toys" Duke! Nice!
I have a hard time keeping my UV-18 fed, and a 40T is very tempting... alas... no space. Oh well.
You have created a very nice setup+++

Wow, sounds like your shop is set up for anything now. Very jealous here. Looking forward to seeing the results of all your tumbling.

Thanks Glenn gmitch067 & Diane drocknut Yeah those two pieces put me at full capacity I am now out of bench space. I retired in Dec 2014 and I got into this hobby just about a year ago in efforts to recover from a Stroke that I had in July of last year. I figured rock hunting would be good exercise and it is. Anything to get me off my butt and outside is a good thing. Now that I am beginning to get a handle on the tumbling aspect of this hobby I thought I would try a couple larger pieces of equipment. After doing it both ways Larger Equipment is the way to go!
