With all that and the tumblers you already have, I surely do hope you like tumbling!

Well ordered the shafts yesterday (3) 60" inchers that will be cut in 1/2 down to 30" that will give me 6 shafts. I purchased through McMaster Carr. So With the Shaft costing $156.56 + the Pulleys costing $124.97 + Motor $ 45.80 + Bearings $ 62.28 = 389.61 Total Project cost thus far. Remember this is a HUGE MACHINE.

I have decided to make a Tumbler it will be based on a Diamond Pacific Tumbler 65T ~ 40T ~ 25T all In One the 90Lb 65T Barrel will be on the bottom Tier. Hi Duke, how is this project coming along? Reason I ask is I was looking thru the threads to see if anyone had an issue with the 65T bearings making a noise and I found your post, so I am just curios how you are doing with this project. Mid December my 65T started acting up big time with a high rate of '"clicking." Did you ever experience this with your 40T machine? Long story short I had to replace a broken "V" belt and changed out all the bearings and will refurbish the two shafts that have oil seeping along the plastic covers. It seems that the 65T does not require oil but grease in the bearing blocks and I oiled the hell out of the bearing blocks to eliminate the clicking sound. Were you aware of this? Seems I may have overloaded the bearing with the 135 pound load I was running previously. Oh well, live and learn. Cheers, johnw

Me again, what will you do for barrels? The 40T barrels cost $150.00 each from the Rock Shed. Cheers, johnw

I do plan on using the 40T Barrels or maybe the 90 That aught to get something shakin! ~Duke Have you considered that you will be dealing with considerable weight with each of these size barrels? I handle the 15 pound barrels pretty well, but much more than that and I would begin to think I was approaching my limit. Lifting, pouring out rocks and slurry, etc... would all seem to me to be a workout that my knees and back would not appreciate. That and feeding these beasts. I suspect that I have more rough rocks in my possession than say 80 to 90 % of the folks out here and I would stay busy keeping an adequate feed supply on hand. You can't tumble many 3 and 4 pound rocks at a time so they have to be broke up/cut up which takes time. If you need to buy your rocks from the normal sources, it's going to get costly. Good luck Henry

Good luck Henry Well Henry I see what yer sayin, but I just took the 40t approx 60 lbs and walked it outside and dumped and washed the contents a few days ago. Filled it back up and it is rolling again. Sure I don't like it because I'm not a young man anymore when I was in HS I benched 350 no problem. Before I retired 5 years ago I was still benching 220. But since I got stroked out I dont think there is NO WAY I could do it. But lifting a 100 lbs? I still think I can Snatch it. and do it. I think of it as doing chores. No one likes doing the hard work part bu when those Gems show their shiny self's to me it just makes that hard work that much more appreciative. Nothing is easy I guess. I just deal with it. Thanks Henry ~Duke

Thanks Henry ~Duke I am all for keeping busy and continuing to work, just trying to avoid injuries as I don't heal as fast as I use to. Be careful with the lifting, don't hurt that Back.
