I cut the end off of a nodule of Needle Peak green and gold moss agate that I purchased on eBay from J.R. at Riverbend Lapidary.. It is just as good as I expected. There is a little crystal pocket in the center that I will either incorporate into cabs or work around it. The nub off the end looks pretty good, so maybe it's a cab, too... A little soft area needs to go, but there's a shape... Not bad... Pre-cut the edges with the saw to make doming easier. It's a little thick... Ground it down and cleaned up the shape a little... Ready to go to the 1200 and polish wheels... Ta da!!! First picture of the finished cab, but the phone won't correct the colors... In full sun with the black background. Colors still off... There it is... I just thought I'd share this little excursion. Definitely not intended as any kind of tutorial or anything. Just sharing the journey.

Nice Needle Peak nub end cab. Looks beautiful in that last pic. It appears that you have plenty of this material for more cabs too. Just out of curiosity where is Needle Peak?

Nice Needle Peak nub end cab. Looks beautiful in that last pic. It appears that you have plenty of this material for more cabs too. Just out of curiosity where is Needle Peak? Just Southwest of Terlinqua, Texas, close to Big Bend National Monument. Most of it was owned by the Woodward Ranch. Not sure now but only the east side remains open. That's on a ranch that Teri Smith has access to. It features Pom Pom agate and green and gold moss. I've never found much there so I'm forced to buy it.

Beautiful cab! Thanks for showing your whole process. I like seeing how different people rock-think.

I was scrolling and reading it as if there was a punch line, so I was expecting it to be broken at the end. LOL! Got me. Beautiful cab. Glad it didn't break.
