DSC01078 by ngboettch, on Flickr Pietersite? is there a different name for the layer above that is not as flashy? This one broke on the first wheel so had to go with a shape on the fly DSC01080 by ngboettch, on Flickr Shatuckite, this one had a big chunk come off of the back when cutting the preform so had to alter a little. Then on the final wheel it broke into 3 pieces. Was too pretty to discard. DSC01079 by ngboettch, on Flickr Jasper DSC01081 by ngboettch, on Flickr Opaleye, extremely chatoyant, the color variation you see is due to the doming. Was not having luck with making a movie with the camera.

Great group of cabs. I think the shatuckite is the prettiest one here. I see why you didn't throw it out.
