I was using a Dremel tool [Model 395 corded] the other day, the tool end quit turning but the motor still ran. There's a coupler between the motor armature and the collet shaft, it's tired and will be replaced, but it isn't the problem. The little splined plastic nubbin that the coupler slides over on the motor armature shaft has come loose on the shaft. Best I can find is that the part is not individually replaceable, but is integral with the purchase of a new armature. The machine otherwise is in really good shape, hate to replace the armature if it isn't really necessary. Has anyone had this problem and found a long term working fix. I know there's all sorts of stuff I could glue it on with, want the best.

My dad had the switch go bad on his. Did some looking and no replacement switch available... He tossed it and bought a new one. What a shame, you'd think a company that's been around that long would have parts. quartz now that I think about it, I'll call him & make sure he threw it out. If not I'm sure he'd be happy to donate it for parts.

The switch died on my previous Dremel, too. The switches are replaceable, but it is a pain. Don;t you hate it when a critical part on a tool goes bad?

I appreciate the thought NDK, this is a 395 type 3 machine, so no newcomer either. Dremel used a lot of the same parts for years.

quartz, I finally got around to calling my dad & I'm sorry to say he tossed the Dremel when he found he couldn't replace the switch.

Well, thanks for trying, going to use a bit of my favorite glue. Will either work or won't.
