Had to get these out of final polish. Was a challenge to do, mostly one handed, but succeeded. Some of the points/edges were compromised, while others remained sharp. All have a nice gloss. Would using a vibe for pre and polish stages cut down on loss of edges? I started these in 500-600. Some group shots and then a few of my favs.

Personally, I consider it a sacrilege to tumble nice crystals. Sorry, but had to speak my mind. To each their own.

Yes........A bowl vibe would reduce some of the very sharp edges and pointed crowns, but not enough to take away from the stones quality features and angular definition.
I've purchased quite a bit of Amethyst crystals (medium size mostly) from the Rock Shed which are generally "C to B" quality and heavily fractured.......they turn out pretty nice starting with ceramics and 120/220 sic, then ceramics and 500 AO, finishing with ceramics and a 1200 AO pre-polish and polish with ceramics and Cerium Oxide. The few really nice nuggets that come with the mixed stuff, I just run through the 500, 1200 and cerium to polish up. The vibe works great for that aspect as well.
This link represents a few of the nicer nuggets that went through the above process....: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/87509/batch-amethyst-2019?page=1&scrollTo=1052634
