I bought this and a Turritella agate (also egg shaped) at a local antique/thrift store a couple weeks ago for a few bucks each. There were other's (all egg shaped) maybe six or so, mostly marble and granite that I passed on. Any ideas on the name of this agate/jasper and or location? whoever did the lapidary work to it did a nice job it seems.

Looks like Fancy jasper from India. It's closely related to Bloodstone, only a different mix of colors. Lynn
